Why do you think Captain Lewis thought it was a good idea to keep saying "tab-ba-bone" to any Shoshones he encountered?
Because they Shoshones might have thought that they were going to hurt them, so he was speaking their language.
ReplyDeletei think that Captain Lewis was saying that because he wanted to show that although he was white, he is not going to gurt them.
ReplyDeleteMaybe to show that they come in peace and are not going to hurt them, because they have never seen a white man.
ReplyDeleteI think they were saying that because they are white man and they think that if they say then they would think that they come in peace.
ReplyDeleteI think he kept on saying ta-ba-bone because if they their language then they must be friendly.
ReplyDeleteI think he was kept saying it because he wanted to show they were friendly and took the time to learn their language.
