Why do you think Captain Lewis orchestrated the ruse about the note with Drouillard?
To show them where they were so they knew that they were there.

ReplyDeleteTo show them that Captain Clark's party isn't hiding to attack the indians so they would calm down.
ReplyDeleteI think Captain Lewis orchestrated the ruse because Captain Clark might not have got the letter and he didn't want to scare the Indians.
ReplyDeleteCaptain Lewis and Droulliard wrote a note that said Captain Calrk would be back, but Captain Lewis made it look like it was from Captain Clark.
