What do you think put the Shoshones at ease and calmed their fears about the white men?
When the Lewis and Clark tribe gave them their guns to show that they will not use them against them, and if they were lying they could shoot the captain.
I think when they gave them their guns they felt safer. Also the Captain said they could shoot him if he was lying.What put them at ease was bird woman knowing their cheif.
I think that when they gave them their guns they felt more trustworthy but still suspicious. And since Bird Woomen knew the chief, as her brother, that put them at ease.
I think when they got the guns, they felt safer. I thought that Lewis and Clark gave them the guns so they feel safe and they could use them to hunt. Captain Lewis also said that if he was lying, they could shoot him, so they wouldn't think he was lying.
