When Captain Lewis was ill, why do you think he did not want Captain Clark's help?

This question adapted from Sebastian's idea.  Thanks, Sebastian.

  1. I don't think he wanted Captain Clark's help because he didn't want him to to get hurt while doing it. And also I think he wanted someone to lead the crew and steer the keelboat.

  2. I thought he did not want Captain Clark's help because if Captain Clarck knew he might make Captain Lewis wait until he gets better, but Captain Lewis might not want the other people to do it without him.

  3. I think he did not want Captain Clark's help because if he got sick also there would be no one to watch to make sure everyone was doing good, because they would get everyone else sick.
