What do you think Dorion was trying to tell Captain Lewis about the Teton Sioux?
I think that Dorion was trying to tell them that they will try to stop them from going upriver. Also he might of been telling them to take a different root if possible. So that they can get up the river quicker.
I also thought Dorion was trying to tell them that they would try and stop the from going upriver. Dorion probably knew a better root that could have gotten them there a lot faster.
Why do you think the Teton Sioux would try to stop them? What do you think he meant when he said (on page 23), that they are "a very different breed from the Yanktons"?
I think that it also means to travel upriver. I think that brigands means that you ar ea robber or theif. I think that when he said they are a different breed he means that they are a different sort of tribe.
I think Dorion was telling captain Lewis that the reason theTeton sioux will try to stop them is because they don't want any strangers going down the river because they might kill them. I thin that brigands mean loudmouth
I think the Teton Sioux would try to stop them from going up river because they do not want strangers in there land. Also like Lillie said they might try to kill them.
I think when the book said that "the Teton Sioux is a very different breed from the Yanktons," that meant that they are a different tribe and have a different way of doing things. I also think that brigands means people that are mean and do things that are not good or helpful.
I think that Dorion was trying to tell them that they should stay away from the Tenton Souix because they are a very powerful tribe. I think that the Tenton Souix will try to stop them because "they would be the most powerful tribe". I think that brigands are people who are malice.

ReplyDeleteAlso on page 23, Dorion called the Yankton Sioux "brigands." What do you think that means?
