How did you interpret what Private Reed was suggesting to Private Newman? What do you think he was planning (or hoping) to do?
I think he was going to make a trade of cheap beads for thousands of dollors worth of animal skin and leave captain Lewis and captain Clark.
ReplyDeleteI think he was hoping to scam them by trading the cheap, fake, and flimsy "jewels" for expensive animal skins and or fur.

ReplyDeleteI think that Reed was going to trick Newman into coming with him to make money and then when they were done he would kill him.
