What did you think of the punishment Collins and Hall received for their transgressions?
Me to, I personally think that they could of come up with a better and less painful punishment. What they did was bad but, that is not an excuse to act like the KKK.
I can't believe they whipped their workers in mass amounts just thinking of having it once is hurting my back. But also we have to add the factor that if they ran out of liquid they would all die.
Personally I hate the fact that they beat their workers and second isn't that illegal.
ReplyDeleteYeah, exactly what I was thinking! Well, I know it is illegal now but, was it back then? Seriously I can't believe that they beat their workers.

I thought it was kind of mean to whack them but i think the punishment could have been worst.

ReplyDeleteKeep in mind, they did steal from the crew. If you don't agree with what was done to them, what do you think the punishment should have been?
ReplyDeleteAngus, it was whiskey they stole. Running out of liquid while traveling by river is unlikely.
